All About Me

For a long time I was city girl stuck in small town world. I was born and raised in rural, central Pennsylvania where my first job was...feeding calves on my aunt and uncle's farm. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate EVERY moment of my small town life, the close knit family, everyone knowing everyone, I am thankful for it everyday.

Seeking adventure, I began attending Temple University in Philadelphia to pursue an education degree. I LOVED and still do, living in Philadelphia and was blessed to have been offered a job teaching 4th Grade in my beloved city.

Some things I have learned about myself since I began teaching:

-I cry too much - for any emotion I experience, there's always the same reaction - tears.

-I can work harder than I ever thought I could.

-I am a workaholic. My job doesn't consume me, my students do. My worries and excitement about there futures consume me. And I wouldn't change that for the world.  They are mine.

-I can be easily influence by negative attitudes. I love teaching, I love my job and those negative attitudes are not for me. Easier said than done sometimes.

-Teaching is my calling. I'd be lost without it.
